The Three Main Components of CRP

The unique and natural CRP/matrix contains three main components, all autologous and derived from each patient’s own blood:

Growth Factors with Anabolic Properties

The growth factors that are derived from the body’s platelets exert an anabolic and regenerative effect on the skin by stimulating enhanced growth and function of stem cells, keratinocytes, fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and epithelial cells. This translates to new cellular growth in the skin, collagen and elastin formation, angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation), enhanced wound healing, and repair of damaged tissue.

Anti-Inflammatory Cytokines

What to Expect During Your Consultation

Before your biofacial at Greco Dermatology, you will have a consultation with us so that we can get a clear understanding of your goals, answer any questions you have, and develop a treatment plan. We will take you through a detailed description of pre- and post-treatment considerations and address any concerns.

The CRP Procedure for BioFacials

On the day of your biofacial, we will clean your skin and take some blood from your arm. A topical anesthetic will be applied prior to the procedure to keep you comfortable. Once your blood has been collected, will be processed in order to separate the red blood cells and other impurities from the cytokines. The growth factor and cytokine-rich material will then be put into a syringe so that your problem areas can be injected for specific treatment of mid-face fullness, nasolabial folds, around the eyes, etc. We use distraction techniques as well as cold sprays to minimize any injection-related pain.

Once the injections have been done, we use a derma-roller with tiny needles to help the CRP/Matrix penetrate deeply into your skin. A collagen sheet will then be applied to cool and hydrate the skin, as well as help drive growth factors into the skin to wake up collagen-producing stem cells. By combining multiple techniques, the CRP/matrix will reach the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue in the same treatment to ensure the regenerative effects target all levels of the skin. This translates to improvements in photoaging, volume restoration, softening of fine lines and pores, and normalization of skin texture and tone. Downtime, Side Effects, and Results

Downtime and side effects with CRP are usually very minimal, as the natural growth factors in the CRP/Matrix directly promote wound healing via cellular repair and decreased inflammation.

By removing red blood cells from the CRP, we lessen the pain and bruising. However, because bruising can still develop with injections, so we also take great care in the placement and number of injections we create.

Ice packs can be used immediately to minimize the risks as well. Some results can be seen relatively quickly, while others (such as newly stimulated collagen production) may take weeks to develop.
